The Graduate Center Library is an OCLC SHARES consortium member, which confers GC students, faculty, and staff access to participating university and museum libraries in New York City and across the world. SHARES also lowers interlibrary loan costs involving other SHARES libraries.
A current GC photo ID is required to enter the SHARES member libraries listed here. No on-site borrowing is offered SHARES visitors.
Columbia University Libraries and New York University Libraries deny SHARES access by affiliates of some neighboring SHARES universities, including the Graduate Center. Any SHARES member may enter the Graduate Center Library, and we hope that Columbia and NYU will revise their SHARES reciprocal access policies.
Call ahead to announce your visit, particularly if you require staff assistance.
